Fred Cartwright is President and CEO of Conexus Indiana, one of six (6) non-profit branded initiatives under the umbrella of the Central Indiana Corporate Partnership (CICP). Founded in 2007, Conexus supports the advanced manufacturing and logistics sectors of the Indiana economy, with particular emphasis on digital transformation and talent development. Conexus has key partnerships with industry, academia, philanthropic and public organizations, necessary to increase overall competitiveness, growth and prosperity within these important sectors of the Indiana economy.
Since his appointment to this position in July 2021, Cartwright has been a regular speaker and spokesperson for the advanced manufacturing and logistics sectors, led the formation of Conexus’ strategic plan, been an integral part of inspiring inter-Initiative cooperation, and successfully secured multiple contracts with public, philanthropic and academic organizations.
Cartwright has spent his career in manufacturing innovation leadership positions, with an emphasis on automotive technology commercialization, business development, public-private-partnerships and leading-edge research park development. This includes 33 years at General Motors, in various global executive leadership roles, 5 years at the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) in Greenville, South Carolina and 3 years as President of PRUV Mobility, headquartered in Columbus, Indiana. In 2022, he was recognized by the Indianapolis Business Journal as one of the 250 most influential business leaders in Indiana. He has a BSME from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and a MBA from Butler University.
