Sara Sabry is an engineer, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and Egypt’s first Astronaut. Sabry became the first Arab woman and first woman from the African continent to go to space after her historical launch in August 2022.
Sara’s wide range of experiences span from mechatronics and robotic surgery, to stem cell development and bioastronautics. She studied Mechanical Engineering at the American University in Cairo and went on to complete her Masters in Biomedical Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Aerospace Sciences with focus on Planetary Spacesuits at the UND NASA-funded Humanspaceflight Lab.
